To be open in the second location so soon after Media City feels incredible. It's one of those things where we didn't think that we'd get to that stage so soon, but things moved so fast at Media City, so now we're here it's unbelievable, and to introduce UBX to a new crowd as well, we couldn't ask for more.
We are a husband-and-wife team who started our franchise business journey in 2015 within the childcare sector. Having worked successfully in the franchise environment, we are excited to have become a part of the UBX team. I was looking to diversify my investments in 2021 when I started investigating the market to identify a new boutique fitness brand. One of my objectives was to launch a new brand in the Irish market, which is why I started talking to UBX in 2022. I quickly negotiated a multi-license deal and UBX Stepaside was identified as the first location. I put together a small team of 2 other experienced fitness professionals and gym managers in Raff and Sergio who are also investors in UBX Stepaside. This close-knit team did an immense job in hitting our revenue targets and quickly completed an intense project to get the very first UBX open in Ireland. It was a thrilling experience to launch the first UBX in Ireland and we received great support from all the team at UBX UK & Ireland and head office in Australia.”

When the UBX model was proposed to me, it ticked all the boxes. It operated in the health and fitness industry, it had a lower capital outlay than a standard gym format, and it was a well-established franchise concept with a new twist to it. It was everything I was looking for. I looked very carefully at the UBX model. I'm actually not a boxing person, but I do appreciate that it’s a huge market. The thing that kept coming back to me was the low membership numbers required to make the business successful and the simplicity of the model.
