Acacia Homecare aims to become the standard to which care is measured in an ever-growing industry

  • The total value of the UK care industry is £51.5 billion
  • 950,000+ people are receiving domiciliary care in the UK
  • £7 billion is spent on domiciliary care alone in the UK*
With growing demand from an ageing population and increased focus on support for people suffering from learning disabilities and mental health conditions - coupled with more people wishing to remain at home - the retreat of local authority funding turns small opportunities into a growing need, ready for those with the right care concept and business mindset to step into the gap.

Our mission is to grow responsibly to become the best provider of care to the private sector by offering high quality care from a mature, well trained, experienced, and happy team.

Our current franchisees will testify that our franchise model works and is realistic. Acacia Homecare follows a unique organisational structure and uses a care system that has been built in partnership to satisfy the needs of the business, which benefits the entire franchise network. We have a very collaborative approach and the franchise network works together as a team.

Who is our ideal franchisee?

First and foremost, you do not need to be experienced in the care industry, but, like all of our franchise owners you need to be a driven and dedicated team leader, caring and know the importance of providing a high-quality service of care.

You don’t even need to have experience of running your own business; the beauty of owning a franchise is that you get all the training and support you need from very experienced professionals. You will also be part of a network of professionals from all walks of life who work together to help each other grow.

Some franchise owners do have previous experience of running a business, but many others come from the corporate world or have only worked for someone else.

Your role as a franchisee can be one of many, however, the majority of our franchise owners focus on business development and running the business, leaving the care specific roles to employed staff.

Once you have joined Acacia Homecare, our team assist you in gaining your accreditation from the CQC, as well as setting up and hiring the relevant staff. Our collaborative process enables you to start your business as quickly as possible.

How big could my franchise become?

As big as you want it to be! The people requiring care from the private sector is growing year on year. Quite simply, the better you are, the more people will want your services.

Acacia Homecare has developed its own support, training and development package which is delivered by the team that not only wrote it, but also experienced and developed it from the start of the business.

How To Choose A Rock-Solid Franchise In Uncertain Times

Due to a variety of economic factors it can seem to be a pretty daunting landscape in which to open a new business, but launching a successful franchise in 2025 is still eminently possible.

There are plenty of fantastic avenues for people like you to explore in order to fulfil your business ownership ambitions. Joining a home care franchise is one such avenue… as long as you choose the right one!

It is now more important than ever to ask franchisors the right questions, not just about what they can offer you, but also how well equipped they are to deal with the future.

For example:

How will you handle the changes in tax and employment law?

Does the franchisor have a plan in place? If they intend to raise prices, as most businesses will have to do, how will it affect their customer base? This is especially important in home care, where it will depend on how much they rely on purely public sector contracts.

Do you have expertise and experience in dealing with complex changes?

Most home care franchisors will be experts in their industry sector, but are they also experts in the business side? Make sure there is a team at the top with the range of skills needed to deal with anything that comes their way.

Is their franchise model flexible enough to adapt to change quickly?

How proactive is the franchisor in innovating new business plans? Do they rely on a rigid, niche offering, or do they appeal to a wider audience?

What challenges have they faced before, and how have they overcome them?

One of the biggest advantages of joining a franchise, compared to starting out on your own, is that a good franchisor has already successfully dealt with all manner of obstacles and challenges, has learnt hard lessons along the way. Meaning they can help you avoid being caught out by what you don’t know.

If you’re interested in asking any of these questions, or would just like to see how Acacia Homecare would answer them, we’re always happy to chat and even advise you on some more important questions you should always ask any franchisor you talk to!
