Driver Hire Shows Support for World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day was observed on 10 October. Organised by the World Health Organisation (WHO), World Mental Health Day promotes mental health education, awareness and advocacy. Driver Hire, the national recruitment franchise, is doing its part to raise awareness and break the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Driver Hire recognises that professional drivers are at risk of mental health issues due to the unpredictable environment and solitary nature of their professions. Driver Hire franchisees are promoting the ‘5 Steps to Wellbeing’, a set of simple steps that can improve mental wellbeing. The five steps include the following principles: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning, and Give. The franchise has printed 20,000 copies to be distributed to its customers as part of the business’s regular Newlink newsletter.
Home Instead Senior Care Launches Nutrition Campaign
The Home Instead Senior Care franchise in Basingstoke is encouraging its elderly clients to eat well in a brand new campaign that aims to educate elderly people on the importance of nutrition and how it can help prevent against illness. This campaign has been brought on by an independent survey the senior care franchise conducted that discovered nearly one in five people over 75 years old had eaten alone for at least the last three months, which attributed to the loss of appetite, and that 20% were struggling to cook their own food and 34% admitted to skipping meals, 10% of who did so regularly. Home Instead has equipped all of its caregivers with nutrition guides to start the discussion. Home Instead’s Stay Nourished campaign looks at all aspects of healthy eating, malnutrition, food hygiene, food preparation and cooking methods in an effort to bring back the love of food for seniors.
Husse Celebrates Pet Health
Leading pet food delivery franchise Husse has been explaining how its products make pets healthier by sharing personal anecdotes. As Husse’s American operations continue to grow, Astrid Oetliker, president of the local Husse in Lake Wales, Florida, explained how her own pets changed for the better after feeding them the brand’s pet food. This spurred her to make the move from Europe to America to bring the pet food franchise to Florida. Husse has the advantage over competitors of offering non-genetically manipulated pet food that is healthy for animal’s sensitive digestion, and their home delivery service is at no extra cost to the customer.
Leightons Opticians Prioritises Children’s Eye Health
Leightons Opticians, the eye care and hearing care franchise, is urging parents to make children’s eyes tests a priority this school season. According to the franchise, only one in ten parents prioritises getting their children’s eyes tested before the start of school, and nearly 25% of children in the UK (over 1.8 million) have never had their eye sight checked. Chris Sharman, head optician at Swindon’s Leighton’s Opticians, urges parents to make eyes tests a priority, even when they haven’t been prompted to get their children checked. Problems with vision can put children behind in development, both social and educational. The earlier they are brought in the better, as this makes any issues easy to treat or correct.
