In our latest Franchisor Q&A interview we look at why Hub Care Support is a care franchise opportunity like no other.

Q1. Why is your business a smart franchise investment for entrepreneurs?

CQC registration is not a requirement for our organisation as it would be for home care agencies in the UK, this can be a daunting and challenging hurdle when setting up a business. The Hubs model relocates the external quality assurance element to the carer actually providing the support. This ensures high quality, compassionate support is provided by the Personal Assistant and leaves the business owner free of the potential red tape and able to focus on building their business. Unlike many care franchises, you’ll never be left trying to cover hours of care, that is the responsibility of the Personal Assistants.

The care industry is consistently booming. Q2. What do you look for in a potential franchisee?

A background in care is great and would always be seen as advantageous for someone wanting to join our hub community, but it’s not essential. It also doesn’t mean you’ve had to work in care, a knowledge or personal experience builds a great foundation too.

For us the key personal quality is passion; a passion for delivering high quality care, a tenacity to do things right and a desire to put others first. We believe this passion and attitude is key and everything else can be taught within our initial and ongoing training.

Q3. What does the initial training process look like for new franchisees?

Our initial training provides you with all the knowledge and skills you need to get started and with us it doesn’t stop there. We are big believers in ongoing personal and professional growth, so provide monthly 1-2-1 support and ongoing refresher training to help you continuously build as a professional, a business owner and a member of the care industry.

We also understand the intricacies of starting a business and becoming self-employed, so we even support our franchisees with ‘business set-up’ training, so you’ll never feel alone or out of your depth.

Q4. How do you help franchisees achieve a work-life balance?

You can’t pour from an empty cup, so self-care and managing your own well-being is something that’s at the forefront of our franchisee support, after all we are in the care industry! We believe that a positive work-life balance is key to helping you achieve your own healthy wellbeing and that this is unique to each person, so within your 1-2-1’s, we support you to figure out what this looks like for you and how to achieve it.

Q5. How has the Covid-19 pandemic changed the way the franchise operates? What extra support and assistance are you offering your franchisees during this time?

The Hub has been fortunate in that the Covid-19 pandemic has taught many people the importance of good care and importantly quality companionship. People are beginning to see how essential it is to combat loneliness across all demographics, and we are perfectly set-up to provide a solution to it. The Hub was actually started to provide an alternative to care agencies, who often just don’t have the time to spend with their Service Users simply chatting and giving them that crucial company and attention.

We’re going above and beyond to highlight this across the industry and supporting our franchisees to do the same. Personal support for franchisees is also essential and will never take a back seat for us, no matter what the business landscape looks like.

Q6. What plans do you have for the franchise over the next few years in a post-Covid economy?

We’re so excited to continue growing our Hub Community. We know we’re an innovative alternative to your standard care agency and are going out of our way to raise and maintain standards through QCAS.
