In our latest Franchisor Q&A Interview, we take a look at why SmartPA is a lucrative franchise investment option in a post-pandemic market.
Q1. Why is your business a smart franchise investment for entrepreneurs?
More businesses than ever are relying on services provided by SmartPA. With that shift comes a golden opportunity. And that’s why this year is the perfect time for you to successfully start your own virtual assistant business with SmartPA.
As a result, SmartPA and our franchise network has grown 27% since the first lockdown in March last year.

Q2. What do you look for in a potential franchisee?
Our people are our passion. And our support of one another across our global community is second-to-none!
With our community platform, instant messaging and advice, peer-to-peer support, internal networking opportunities, wellbeing groups, virtual coffee chats and much, much more, you’re never alone or without assistance from our franchise support team.
Our franchisees are often looking to make a difference in their life, and we want to empower and educate them to become financially independent. We work with a diverse range of SmartPAs covering a range of skill sets. When looking at potential franchisees it is key for us to identify a drive and passion for starting their own business.
Q3. What does the initial training process look like for new franchisees?
We offer a comprehensive training programme for all new franchisees. This covers everything from best practice to pricing and business operations. We believe in continuous learning and provide additional training modules to address client feedback or to meet industry needs.
New franchisees will also have access to the SmartPA Hub, our bespoke cloud-based learning platform. This reinforces the flexibility offered to franchisees and means that they can learn at their own pace.
We also offer 1-to-1, group and peer coaching along with a sales and business development mentoring programme. On top of this, our dedicated Business Support Team is available to answer any questions Franchisees may have.
Q4. How do you help franchisees achieve a work-life balance?
We support franchisees through their transition to becoming a business owner and mentor them on managing their workload to achieve a work-life balance.
Should a franchisee need a break – maybe this is to travel, have a baby or an unforeseen circumstance, SmartPA will pick things up during your absence so that you are always supported. Offering this kind of support to our franchisees means that they can always take a step back to rebalance when life gets in the way.
Q5. How has the Covid-19 pandemic impacted your business?
Our business model allows SmartPAs to work virtually and flexibly. The shift towards home working and the need for flexible business support during the pandemic has meant that our franchisees have been able to fill these gaps in the market.
SmartPA has grown 27% since the start of the pandemic. Our franchisees have thrived during this time, most are busier than ever. During 2021 we have been one of the fastest growing franchises on the market.
Businesses now more than ever are outsourcing their administrative tasks, especially this year as they are starting to recover from the impact of the pandemic they are able to scale their business using SmartPA without any risk or large overheads.
Q6. What plans do you have for the franchise over the next few years in a post-Covid economy?
We have high expectations for the future post-COVID. Many businesses have now adopted remote working models and SmartPA has been offering remote admin support for over ten years, so we are well versed in this field.
We have franchisees in 15 countries, over the next few years we will also look to expand further globally and reach new markets.
We have also seen a keen interest from larger corporations such as Total Oil & Gas and Krispy Kreme. Another ambition for us in the next few years would be to expand further into the corporate market.
