Q1. What makes your franchise standout?

It’seeze franchise from Spoton.net has been operating as a franchise for over 12 years now, which is far longer than any similar franchises based in the UK. We’re also the most established franchise in our sector, with a large team of 25 skilled employees at our Head Office who support our franchisees throughout their whole business journey.

We support our franchisees from the moment they start their trading journey with us. This begins with comprehensive onboarding training, with five full days to help them learn everything they need to know about running a successful digital marketing franchise. Following this, they will then spend a day with one of our established franchisees, where they will see first hand how they run their own franchise. Due to the current crisis, this training and mentorship will now be held virtually. We also regularly offer training events through webinars to help our franchisees upskill their marketing techniques.

Our business model is unique and allows franchisees to earn money through three different income streams. They earn instant income from each and every website they sell, receiving the greater share of the initial website setup fee. They also earn from monthly residual income, earning continuously from their client’s monthly subscriptions which increases rapidly as they grow their client base. Finally, our franchisees are able to offer additional marketing services to further enhance their income.

Q3. How is your franchise adapting to the current COVID-19 crisis?

At it’seeze franchise, we always look to take a caring, proactive and ethical approach to everything that we do. With all of our team currently working from home, we have now adapted our franchise to work completely online, so that we can continue to offer support and advice to our franchisees and their clients through these difficult times.

Q4. What extra support and assistance are you offering your franchisees during this time?

We’ve been doing everything we can to help support our franchisees over the past few months. From helping our franchisees with their cash flow to weekly Zoom calls with the whole of our franchisee network, we’ve been putting measures in place to make sure that we all come out of this stronger together.

To help our franchisees with their cash flow and to provide some financial leeway, we awarded them with a one-month free pass on their regular ‘Franchise Support Fee’.

Our Zoom calls have proven to be very successful and helpful to our franchisees during these uncertain times. Our franchisee and it’seeze consultant for Gloucester, Richard Hubble, had this to say:

"I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the weekly update meetings over Zoom that you’ve been running for us all since the lockdown started. These sessions provide a great opportunity for us to all share best practices and real-world experiences, as well as useful tips on how we can best help our existing clients and, even more importantly, win new customers during this pandemic — information that is needed now more than ever.

Similarly, the support that the rest of the Head Office team have been providing to us, in what are obviously quite difficult and unusual circumstances, has continued to be first-rate throughout this lockdown period. I know that many of the other franchisees feel the same, so thanks again from all of us."

Our in-house design team have been helping by creating graphics for social media to help our franchisees promote our offerings and services during this time. They have created a mixture of content such as new images, gifs and videos for our franchisees to use across their digital platforms. These new graphics highlight the measures we are taking to keep everyone safe, in particular, how we are now offering video calls rather than face-to-face meetings.

To provide an extra hand of support, we also prepared a helpful marketing and communications guide for our franchisees. This has helped us to keep a consistent marketing message throughout all our regions in the UK.

We’ve also been working hard to keep up our great team spirit over the last few months. One way we’ve done this recently was through working together to achieve our NHS fundraiser goal. We put together this fundraiser to help support the NHS during these challenging times, and together as a team (albeit remotely) we aimed to complete 260K in 10 days.

Finally, as well as our franchisees, we’ve also put in place support to help all of our family of clients throughout these difficult times. We’ll continue to do everything we can to help our franchisees and clients through these tough times – we know that if we stick together, it’ll be easier for all of us!

Q5. What plans do you have for the franchise over the next few years?

We continually develop our systems, training, and methods of support to help franchisees maximise their growth potential.

We are in the process of completely redeveloping our administration system which is the core tool our network uses to operate their business. It's a massive project but this will make our systems slicker and more intuitive for both franchisees and our website customers to use. The launch will be later this year and will undoubtedly allow our network to provide a more efficient service.

We are just installing a state-of-the-art telephone and conferencing system. With our support hub working remotely due to the COVID pandemic, communication is of key importance and investment in this new platform will speed up and allow us to keep in touch with our franchisee network and customers with ease. We pride ourselves on delivering a personal service. Call waiting is not an option for us, delivering a high level of support is what we are known for, whether working remotely or not!

The introduction of a new training tool predominantly for new franchisees is being tested currently, it gives us visibility of the time it takes to complete each course and what questions are not fully understood. This allows us to revisit any areas of weakness with the franchisee and provide further training where necessary, which leads to confidence in our systems and products right from the outset.

Our website packages are continuously improved to remain highly competitive in the marketplace.

Q6. What skills are important for your franchisees to have?

Determination and enthusiasm are key attributes when joining our franchise. Our franchisees need to have great communication skills and an interest in digital marketing. However, they do not need to be an expert in web design!

Our franchisees come from varied backgrounds of expertise. From teachers to web designers, marketeers to salesmen, our successful network of franchisees have a mixture of different skills sets – but have one thing in common – a desire to put their skills to use to grow their own business, not someone else’s!
