March 8th this year marks International Women’s Day, a day intended to celebrate women the world over and draw attention to some of the most vital issues that women face today. The theme for this year’s IWD - A Promise is a Promise: Time for Action to End Violence Against Women – focused on the still pertinent issue of domestic violence; worldwide, women are more at risk of domestic abuse than they are from cancer, malaria and war.Every year, Franchise Direct makes an effort to raise both funds and awareness for this crucial cause. Following on from last year, we hosted a cake sale for Concern Worldwide which raised over £200 that will go to help women and children across the world who desperately need it.
