Franchise Direct to Encourage British-South Africa Links

Franchise Direct are officially launching their South African website this week.

Having operated in the United Kingdom since 1999, Franchise Direct are keen to encourage those based in the UK to consider broadening their horizons and seeing the franchise trends in the rapidly expanding and developing South African market.

“This is the perfect opportunity for those concepts which have been proven successful in the UK to start thinking about recruiting a South African master franchisee and expanding south of the equator,” said UK Director Brian Rogan.

Representatives from the international network of franchise and business opportunities met with leaders of the South African franchise industry last week, including the Franchise Association of South Africa and leading consultant Franchize Directions.

With an international address book of 1,000 of the world’s biggest brands including Subway, McDonalds, Mac Tools, Kumon and Jan-Pro, Franchise Direct are aiming to drive international expansion into the growing South African market from more mature markets.

The network, which operates a suite of ten websites throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe and Mexico provide a platform for franchise brands to connect with potential investors.

“We hope to build a lasting relationship with both the FASA and Franchize Directions. There’s such broad opportunities for British brands to expand into South Africa, and Franchise Direct will work with Franchize Directions to encourage this,” said South African director Brian Rogan.

“A regulatory body like the FASA is vital and reassuring in any franchise market to ensure high standards for potential franchisees, many who can invest their life savings in starting their own business, “ continued Rogan.

South African visitors to the site can search connect with international and local franchise visitors through the directory. The comprehensive information and multimedia centre provide an authoritative platform to research the legal and financial implications of starting a franchise business.
