Home care is a one-of-a-kind investment opportunity

Home care. When you think ‘exciting business opportunity’, home care probably ranks somewhere below raincoats for dogs and above selling door hinges.

And yet, here you are, reading this. Whatever brought you here, we’re glad you arrived.

Because home care, done properly, is one of the most commercially and personally rewarding sectors you can invest in right now. The demand is enormous, the market is growing, and Walfinch is becoming one of the fastest-growing home care franchises.

Who's Walfinch? The 30 Second Answer.

The numbers (the bit you’re actually looking for)…

Let’s talk cash. This is what you’re looking at to join Walfinch’s home care revolution.
  • Total investment: £110,000 - £120,000 Franchise fee: £34,000 + VAT
  • Management support fee: 5% of turnover
  • Year 3 turnover potential: Up to £1,000,000 (for our best go-getters)
Yes, it’s a hefty investment – but there’s a big difference between late-night Amazon shopping and purchasing a franchise. This isn’t the kind of thing you do ‘on a whim’.

For the serious investors, this is a very quick glimpse into what that money gets you:
  • A proven model and nationally recognised brand
  • A technology stack that handles the admin and avoids the headaches
  • Positive, evidence-based relationships with the major UK lenders
  • Your first 12-months of accounting through Thrive Finch Accounting
  • Your own, exclusive territory with a targeted demographic
  • Access to a full suite of professionally designed marketing materials
  • Comprehensive support and expertise on compliance, business strategy, team recruitment, leadership and much more
  • Initial Stage 1 and Stage 2 training with Walfinch’s National Support Team
  • Ongoing revenue-tailored support cohorts, focused on growing your business
  • A supportive network that has your back from day one
And there’s still a lot more that we haven’t covered yet! This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Keep reading and at the end you can decide whether you think that is the right price to Thrive…

The support is there to prop up whatever your weaknesses are. For me, it was care and the regulatory side of things. That support was invaluable.
Ian Thompson, Walfinch Welwyn and Bishop’s Stortford

So, who are Walfinch, then?

If you’ve been doing your research, you probably already have an impression of us – even if it is just ‘that orange one, with the founder who is always on socials’.

Walfinch is a premium, activity-led home care franchise. We sit at the private end of the market, meaning our clients choose us and fund their own care. No waiting lists, no council rate cards, no fighting over a fixed pot of funding. Our model is built around people who want excellent care and are prepared to pay for it.

We’re not shy about our ambitions. Walfinch is a fast-growing franchise, on-track to be at £100,000,000 in revenue in the next 5 years and actively reshaping the way the UK thinks about ageing at the same time.

Some people call it redefining home care. We just call it business as usual.

The founder who was a franchisee first (yes, really)

Before Walfinch, Amrit had already built and sold a different, successful home care franchise. After his long days and sleepless nights as a home care franchisee, Amrit concluded: ‘nobody deserves that’.

So, in response, he founded Walfinch – to singlehandedly fix home care franchising. A model designed to be repeatable, scalable and, critically, enjoyable to be part of.

Amrit built the franchise he wished he’d been able to join. You’re the one who gets to join it.

Walfinch Image

Walfinch’s first franchisee is now a multi-millioniare

Back before Walfinch looked like Walfinch, Amrit approached a series of ambitious entrepreneurs to join the franchise. The very first was Sarah Wickham.

Sarah had a long and successful career in care, management and recruitment, and wanted to use her skills for more than just building someone else’s business for them. So, she took the leap and joined Walfinch.

A franchise like Walfinch gives you that self-belief and backs it up with education, coaching and support. I’d like more people to know that they can do what I have done!
Sarah Wickham, Walfinch West Suffolk, Norwich, and Suffolk Coastal
The average Walfinch franchisee reaches £1,000,000 in turnover within 3 years, but Sarah reached £2,800,000 in just 4. How? She followed the system to the letter.

Today, Sarah owns three Walfinch branches and remains as the living proof of our model’s success. In short, the more work you put into the model the more wealth you get out of it.

The five things that make the model work

A great franchise model isn’t an elaborate magic trick – that’s why we’re more than happy to tell you exactly how it works. We’ll leave the mystical stuff to Houdini and Co.

Here’s the run down:
  • Your territory is yours.
We map it carefully based on actual demand, demographics and population data. Then we protect it. No Walfinch neighbours nicking business!
  • Clients stick around.
Unlike, say, a gym membership, care clients tend to stay. Once someone trusts you with something as personal as their wellbeing, they want to maintain that service. That’s recurring, reliable income.
  • A proper menu of services.
Hourly visits, live-in care, dementia support, complex care, companionship, post-hospital recovery. You’re not a one-trick pony. You can serve a wide range of clients and grow your revenue streams accordingly. Because nobody likes to be pigeonholed, do they?
  • Technology that earns its keep.
Rostering, compliance, care monitoring, referral tracking, recruitment (all of that deeply integral yet mind-numbing stuff), the systems handle it. You focus on growing the business rather than re-filling staplers. The relief is unreal.
  • Room to grow.
Most franchisees start with one territory. The model is built for people who want to go bigger. Multi-territory, multi-office, properly scaled. The infrastructure grows with you. World domination, anyone? Only kidding! …Unless?

Support that goes beyond an email or two

A lot of franchises talk about support. They mean a monthly call and a shared Dropbox folder. Walfinch is different, and here’s exactly how that looks.

When you’re starting out:
  • 5 days of intensive, in-person training at the National Support Office. Actual, practical training and discussions, not just death-by-PowerPoint.
  • 5 days of online training to get you settled into using the Walfinch technology stack: your CRM, care rostering systems, and much more.
  • Full support with your regulatory registration, including the Care Quality Commission. Navigating regulators is not a fun solo project.
  • A 90-day launch plan with clear milestones so you know exactly what you’re doing, and when.
  • Help setting up your office, implementing your systems and getting your marketing off the ground.
Once you’re up and running:
  • Regular coaching and business development sessions with your dedicated Business Support and Quality Manager.
  • Compliance support, because the regulatory side of this sector does not get simpler over time.
  • A network of fellow franchisees to share ideas, referrals and the occasional commiseration over a coffee.
  • Access to leadership when you need it. Real people, real conversations, real help.
  • Entry into the first of three revenue-tailored support cohorts. As you progress, you’ll make your way through all of the groups, receiving tailored, relevant support throughout.

The in-person growth programmes

Walfinch runs three tailored programmes as you build your business, helping you to level up:
  • The Finch Flight Club (£0 to £30,000 monthly revenue).
This is the first support cohort a new Walfinch franchisee joins. It’s designed to help smaller businesses build momentum in networking, local marketing, and establishing operations.

All franchisees in this group are geared towards a collective growth culture. This shifts your mindset from isolated effort to a shared momentum. You’re in a franchise for yourself, but never by yourself.
  • Rise to Thrive (£30,000 to £83,000 monthly revenue).
Walfinch’s second support cohort is focused on making your business work at scale. You’ve built relationships, started getting clients, are hiring carers… but how do you build a business that doesn’t entirely depend on you doing everything yourself?

Owners will leave with an actionable, growth-driven plan to Thrive. The point of this cohort is to start being more strategic in terms of running your business.
  • Thrive Academy (£83,000+ monthly revenue).
This cohort is for established, profitable franchisees who have built a real business and are now thinking about what comes next: a second territory, significant scaling of the existing business, leadership development, or eventual exit. The Thrive Academy is incredibly collaborative, and is a wonderful opportunity for for large, mature operators to get together and discuss issues.

[This] gave me the perfect "kickstart" for my journey… these sessions really helped me to refocus, step back, and take a bird’s eye view of my business and my team. I think every owner needs to do this from time to time to stay inspired!

Walfinch Profile Image

Are you the right person for this?

We are not going to tell you that anyone can do this, because that would be both untrue and, well, a bit patronising. Walfinch works brilliantly for the right kind of person, and less well for others. So, what does ‘right kind of person’ actually mean?

Walfinch Image
We would never have been able to do this on our own. We had no experience of running a business, and the legislation here is unbelievable. We would never be where we are today with the type of business that we have today.
Tracy and Kathy, Walfinch Kingston and Weybridge
Previous care experience is not on the list. Our franchisees have come from marketing, finance, retail, hospitality, recruitment, tech and a dozen other sectors.

What they have in common is this:
  • They’re motivated by building something of genuine value, not just collecting a salary.
  • They’re good at leading people and comfortable being the person others look to.
  • They take quality seriously and understand that reputation is built slowly and lost quickly.
  • They engage with the community around them, rather than operating in a bubble.
  • They’re coachable. They follow the model rather than deciding they know better on week two.
  • They want to scale. Not just tick along but actually build.
If that sounds like you: brilliant. If you read that list and thought ‘most of it, actually’: let’s talk. If you’re looking for a passive investment that runs itself: this is not it, and we’d rather tell you now.

What you’re building towards

Walfinch franchisees who follow the model, engage with the support, and invest properly in their business and community can expect:
  • Early turnover, because demand in the private-pay market is not something you have to manufacture.
  • Reliable, recurring income from a client base that stays once you earn their trust.
  • The potential to expand into multiple territories, building real scale.A business with genuine exit value. Not just something that pays you while you run it, but something someone would want to buy.
  • Turnover of up to £1,000,000 by Year 3, for franchisees who commit to the journey.

Disclaimer, that last one is not a marketing boast. It is what driven franchisees have actually achieved – you can hear directly from our franchisees, on our podcast ‘Walking with Walfinch’. As you’ll hear, it requires work, focus and the willingness to follow a proven system.

I really enjoy being part of a bigger franchise… When I had my own business for quite a long time, some 24 years, I didn’t really have anyone to talk to. It was a lonely road.
Greg Renk, Walfinch Mid and South Buckinghamshire

What happens next?

If this profile has ticked enough boxes to make you want to know more, the next move is a conversation.

We’re selective about who we bring into the Walfinch network, because the quality of our franchisees is part of what makes the brand work. So, if you’ve read this far and you’re thinking ‘I could do this’, we’d like to find out if you’re right.

Start the conversation. We look forward to hearing from you.

Family Inspires Launch of Walfinch Sutton Coldfield

Gurprit Gill is launching the Walfinch home care service in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, inspired by her commitment to family care.

Walfinch Image

Gurprit started as a carer in 2010 and worked her way up to being a Care Manager, and her care philosophy has always been based on what she would want for her own family.

“I see my parents getting older and I want to ensure that they, and everyone who needs help, receives it in a dignified and heartfelt manner – and I want to offer far more than basic care services. My grandma can no longer travel, but I want to ensure that she and people like her, can go to family occasions, even if it means taking a carer, a hoist and a profiling bed.”

After 16 years in the care sector, and achieving the level 5 qualification in care management, Gurprit is taking the next step, by launching her own care business as a Walfinch franchisee.

“I aim to bring our care clients a healthy life, fresh food, and the ability to attend social occasions, and I have the commitment and the experience to do it,” she says.

She wants to work with her care team to deliver holistic fitness coaching to help clients increase physical skills, such as getting up from chairs more easily, and has plans for arts and crafts activities, pamper sessions and social occasions.

“My care philosophy chimes with that of Walfinch, and the support and business experience of their franchise team will help me succeed,” she says.

Gurprit is now recruiting her care team, which may be aided by her existing profile in the care sector. In the past her reputation as a care leader has meant that carers and clients have followed her when she has changed jobs. She is also introducing her new service to clients and families by organising leaflet distribution and has taken on a content creator to make the service known on social media.

Having transitioned from carer to businesswoman, Gurprit hopes to see her focus on family-style care pass down to the next generation.

“My two daughters, Avneet, 11, and Ambar, 8, will see their mum build a business in the care sector – proof that women can succeed in business and still maintain their caring side. Later I hope to be able to provide them with work experience, and perhaps see them take over the business.”
