Ed’s been sat right where you are now and knows the TAB journey personally – he’s committed to helping franchisees by sharing his experience. And Ed's original TAB business is still trading, the franchisee who purchased it has grown the business further too!
As UK franchisor we still run a few territories keeping our finger on the pulse and testing new initiatives, before developing further with the network.
We have been in the UK since 2009, but actually trace our roots back to the USA when in 1990 our founder first developed the business concept to share the power he had experienced of non-exec directors. There are now over 400 TAB franchisees serving over 5,000 business owners each month across 25 countries.

TAB’s 2025 Conference Celebrates 15 Years of Franchise Success
Leading business franchise, The Alternative Board (TAB), has hailed its 2025 Annual Conference an outstanding success, reinforcing its commitment to supporting business owners through shared learning, expert insights and networking opportunities.

Marking 15 successful years of TAB in the UK, the two-day conference at the Crowne Plaza in Leeds united franchisees from across the country to celebrate the franchise’s growth, foster collaboration, and drive professional development.
This year’s event opened with a deep dive into the franchise’s future ambitions featuring Jason Zickerman, President of TAB World Headquarter alongside the UK franchises co-owners Ed Reid and Mags Fuller. Answering franchisees questions, the trio shared valuable insights on leadership, business strategy and the evolving franchise landscape.
The two panel sessions were particular highlights on the agenda. The first being four franchisees sharing how they have kept resilient during particularly challenging times in their personal lives. The second, hearing how three TAB members manage employee learning and development, both vital topic for today’s business owners.
Further enhancing the conference’s reputation as a lifelong learning opportunity for TAB franchisees, attendees were privileged to hear from guest speakers, including sports psychologist Michael Caulfield and physiologist Dr. Nerina Ramlakhan. Their expertise provided crucial insights into performance, mindset and well-being, all of which can be applied to both franchisees and the members they support.
In addition, Lesley Crook an Artificial Intelligence specialist led a thought-provoking and practical session exploring how AI is transforming businesses and the opportunities it presents for SMEs looking to innovate and gain a competitive edge.
