Diary of a Franchisee: What Success Looks Like Six Months On
Ever wondered what that business you’ve always dreamed of opening might look like six months from now? How a proven roadmap, the backing of a highly experienced network and the courage to commit fully to your future might help you succeed?
Well, this is the reality Rob Dancy is living right now with Radfield Home Care Tarporley & Mid Cheshire, and his latest round of updates gives a very clear picture of what's possible when all of those things come together.

5 new milestones reached in MarchIn February 2026 Rob had just opened his adult day care centre at Alpraham Village Hall and welcomed the very first members through the door - a moment he celebrated as his first major milestone in bringing Radfield’s 'Be There' purpose to life in his local community.
In the weeks since that update, Rob's Radfield Home Care business has hit a run of milestones that would make any new care business owner proud:
- CQC registration confirmed - this can be a gruelling process, but one which is absolutely essential for anyone who wants to provide regulated personal care in their community. Thanks to the framework and guidance he received from Radfield, Rob managed to turn this around in just 8 weeks, compared to the months and months many have to wait.
- Four additional new clients signed - it’s a major moment of celebration when someone first says "Yes, we'd like Radfield to care for us", and Rob’s managed to find four additional clients across a mix of visiting and day care services. That puts the business comfortably ahead of its targets at this stage.
- The first client newsletter is live - which might sound like a small detail, but this is an important step. Relationships with existing and future clients are all about building trust and connection through direct, consistent and thoughtful communication.
Another new care professional has joined the team - attracting talented, committed people to the business says a great deal about the culture of the business. The Radfield model doesn’t just appeal to clients, but also to professionals who want to work somewhere which genuinely values what they do.
They’ve signed up for a community fundraiser on 31st May - a great care business should never exist in isolation. Being a visible and trusted part of the local community is a huge part of creating the kind of reputation which will make his franchise stand out.
A great few weeks for Rob, and just in time for another big milestone, too: his 50th birthday!
So why is Rob doing so well?
Well, it’s obvious that Rob is an intelligent and talented man, but the big driver behind his success is that he’s following the system laid down for him by Radfield. A system which has benefitted from all the experience and insight of both the leadership team and the fellow franchisees who have gone before him.
