Soaring popularity and demand!

Charlotte and Karen aligned fun-filled story, drama and play classes with early learning frameworks and were an instant hit with teachers and parents as they observed just how effective story and drama can be to educate and stimulate the youngest of creative minds.

They trained at drama school together, after completing BA hons degrees in Theatre and Performance Studies and English and Drama. Karen’s professional work and degree focus was community theatre and theatre in education, whilst Charlotte’s degree had focused on literacy development and language acquisition, and her professional career on business development.

They decided to combine forces, and armed with their love of little ones, their belief that drama in education could and would work with the under 6’s and a copy of the English early years frameworks; they set about creating the innovative Debutots Curriculum, known today as Baby Story Play for the under 2’s and Early Years Drama for the under 7’s – now linked to all UK and Irish learning frameworks.

Drama's role within the education system is valued more than ever, however the opportunities for children under the age of 7 are few and far between and almost nil for those under 3.
