After 25 years plus in the telecommunications industry, I was becoming disillusioned with it all, never knowing when or where the next project would materialise. While reading the local paper recently, I saw a feature about a franchise business opportunities show being held a week later at the Amex stadium in Brighton. One particular business ad jumped out at me, and that was Oven Rescue, owned by Mike Harris. After a week of mulling over the idea of going in a totally different work direction and trying to find reasons not do so, (taking control of your own work life being a very attractive prospect), I decided to go along to the Amex and find out more. There, I met both Mike Harris and also Toby O'Callaghan, who had recently joined the Oven Rescue Group as a franchisee. Both Mike and Toby really impressed me with their enthusiasm and confidence in the service they were providing. One week later I signed on the line and became Oven Rescue Brighton!

Joining Oven Rescue was not a decision taken lightly, far from it. I had been used to a guaranteed salary role for nearly 20 years but the opportunity to control my own destiny and directly influence my own success was a chance I was not prepared to let go untried. Am I ready to adapt my lifestyle, organise my own strategies, control my diary, benefit from my own hard work and motivate myself...I most certainly am! Thank you Mike, I'll meet you at the top!

I joined oven rescue as i wanted to work for myself again. After many months of research i had a list of different franchise opportunities that suited me. I attended a Franchise exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham and met a member of Mike's team and this confirmed for me that this was the one for me. I did my training in January this year with Mike, cleaning his clients ovens, which to my mind is the best way to learn. I came on board at the beginning of February and haven't looked back since.
