BLOSSOM IS GENUINELY DIFFERENT TO OTHER CARE BRANDS

JUST A BLOOMIN’ GOOD FRANCHISE
Founded by a wealthy Yorkshire farm owner when his elders needed extra care, the business initially grew in the North East of England and now has franchisees dotted all across the UK.
WHAT ELSE MAKES THE BLOSSOM FRANCHISE DIFFERENT?
NOT ALL FRANCHISEES ARE EQUAL!
We’ve learnt a lot since we started offering the business model as a franchise...
To be successful with your own Blossom Home Care business you need to be money-motivated, commercially minded and happy to challenge. You won’t succeed unless you can manage people and you will need a genuine compassion for your clients and their loved ones.
You’ll need to insist on delivering first-class care, paying your carers the most and investing in marketing to grow your business. Get this right and you will scale up quickly.
We would love you to have your second office in year two/three and third office by year four/five, but the timing is up to you. Either way; follow the model, take the guidance and advice provided and you should end up with a sizeable asset that you can sell in the future.
#we offer no guarantees of success
THE BLOSSOM BUSINESS JOURNEY
The total initial investment is typically in the region of £90k. However, the high street banks will loan up to 50% of this total (subject to status). So, you could start your new business with as little as £45k, potentially from savings, family money or a re-mortgage.
You need to start with the aim of building a large multi-office care business, a valuable asset that once established can deliver a very healthy income stream and excellent work/life balance.

Having revolutionised premium home care services across England, Wales and Scotland in recent years, Blossom is now poised to deliver the same transformation in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

From CQC regulator to franchise support guru: How Jo Bell’s expertise gives Blossom business owners the edge
February 26, 2025
Successfully running a home care business requires more than just commercial acumen – it demands a deep understanding of compliance, regulation, and quality assurance
These are essential aspects of the franchise journey we treat with the utmost seriousness. It’s why we provide our network with an unparalleled level of support to ensure they meet the highest standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Illustrating our commitment to this is the leading role Jo Bell has taken since joining our franchise support team in 2024.
Jo is a former CQC regulator who boasts over 35 years of experience in health and social care. Since joining us, Jo uses her vast expertise to help franchisees to achieve compliance and deliver exceptional care – the keys to building a thriving home care business.
A career rooted in care quality and compliance
Jo’s journey in the care sector spans over three decades, covering nursing, education and leadership roles.
“I initially trained as a Registered General Nurse, then as a District Nurse within North Yorkshire,” explains Jo.
“I have also completed a BHSC in Health Studies at Leeds University, a dementia course, and more recently an MA in Public Policy and Management at the University of York.
“During my career I have developed a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience. This includes roles working as a regulator and dementia specialist within the CQC for over 12 years, and as a Head of Provider Services, Dementia Lead and Nominated Individual for all Regulated Services in a Local Authority. I have also undertaken PRINCE2 project management training and a range of leadership courses.”
Reflecting on her experience, Jo says: “My work has always been centred on improving care standards and helping providers achieve excellence. At the CQC, I saw first-hand the challenges businesses face when trying to meet regulatory requirements, and I now use that knowledge to guide Blossom franchisees towards success.”
How Jo supports Blossom franchisees
Jo’s deep understanding of CQC processes, evidence collection, and quality assurance gives Blossom franchisees not only confidence in their activities, but a distinct advantage over competitors.
This is achieved in several ways:
Mock CQC inspections
One of the biggest challenges for new franchisees is passing their initial CQC registration and ongoing inspections.
Jo undertakes mock inspections to prepare franchisees, ensuring they understand what to expect and how to demonstrate compliance confidently.
Quality assurance and compliance training
Jo provides specialist training in CQC methodology, evidence collection, and quality assurance to equip franchisees with the knowledge they need to maintain compliance.
Coaching and support of Registered Managers and staff
Beyond CQC registration, Jo remains a constant source of mentorship and support for franchisees and their teams.
Whether it’s handling compliance issues, improving operations, or developing new policies, she ensures franchisees have everything they need to grow a successful and fully compliant home care business with Blossom.
Why Jo’s expertise gives Blossom franchisees a competitive edge
Unlike many other home care franchises, we go far beyond providing basic compliance support – we provide direct, hands-on guidance from someone who has worked inside the CQC itself.
This means franchisees can confidently navigate regulatory requirements, avoid common pitfalls, and achieve CQC accreditation efficiently after joining us.
As Jo explains: “Blossom is a brand that prioritises quality. Franchisees are eager to learn and have a passion for improvement. It’s incredibly rewarding to see them grow and enhance practices, which ultimately improves positive outcomes for service users and clients.”
For prospective franchisees, this level of support offers reassurance you are never alone in your journey. Whether you’re new to the industry or experienced care professionals, Jo’s expertise ensures clear, practical guidance is accessible at every stage of your business journey.
