The results of the 2025 National Client Survey show that over 94% of clients would recommend TaxAssist Accountants to a friend or colleague.
A total of 880 clients took part in this year’s survey, providing valuable insight into both client satisfaction and the current landscape for the UK’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Key findings:
- 94% would recommend TaxAssist Accountants
- 53% expressed uncertainty around the introduction of Making Tax Digital (MTD)
- 60% called for government action to cut business taxes and reduce red tape
- 27% cited the cost of living and energy prices as major concerns
- 29% identified cashflow as the main barrier to growth
Following the survey, Daren Moore FCCA, CEO of The TaxAssist Group, was invited by Intuit to attend the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool, where he met with Sir Keir Starmer and government representatives. This provided an opportunity to represent the voices of TaxAssist clients directly to national policymakers.
“Businesses in this sector are the backbone of the UK economy,” said Daren. “I took the opportunity to highlight the challenges they’re facing and the support we believe they need.
“Drawing on feedback from our nationwide survey, I set out key areas for government focus including the tax burden on UK businesses, regulatory complexity and a lack of confidence across the sector. We’ll be following up by sharing our survey results with key government advisors.
“We’re proud to represent our clients and ensure their voices are heard at the highest level. TaxAssist Accountants will continue to advocate for the reforms and support SMEs need to thrive.”
The annual client survey plays a vital role in helping TaxAssist Accountants equip its nationwide network with the tools, insights and support needed to respond to client needs from technical expertise to marketing resources.
The full survey results have been shared across the TaxAssist network, helping local accountants tailor their advice and services to support SME growth and resilience.
Being part of a franchise network is the best of both worlds... I get to make my own decisions about the business and yet we are part of this massive network made up of the very supportive franchisor, directors and staff, as well as the other franchisees
I am happy to report that I now have over 400 clients, which generate an income and flexibility in how I work that could not have been achieved on the corporate ladder I stepped off. Further, I know that the practice will be a valuable asset for my future when the time is right. The shops, along with my own marketing, and the initiatives of the TaxAssist Support Centre Team, have proved invaluable in helping me to build a substantial practice.
