Now more than ever, you might be thinking about how to make your time and income work harder for your future, so that you’re in control.
As a TaxAssist Accountants franchisee, you can run a thriving accountancy and advisory business, enjoy a growing income from your efforts, and build a valuable asset to sell when the time is right.
You will be able to deliver a suite of accounting, tax, financial and advisory services to local business owners, contractors, freelancers, and their families from your welcoming high street premises.
Franchisees have worked both in practice and industry, banking, financial services, corporate and consulting, and some have been former successful business owners too.
Having a financial background is essential – the focus is on advising and supporting clients while your tech and team do the number crunching.
The Market
With the loss of the traditional bank manager and other advisory organisations, there is a gap that TaxAssist franchises are filling, as people seek a local trusted advisor for their business and personal financial affairs.
Demand is constant, with evolving tech automating many of the basic services. Franchisees and their teams harness this to deliver a suite of accounting, tax and advisory work, with a relationship-led approach.
Alongside these core services, you’ll have multiple additional service lines (Financial Planning by TaxAssist, Tax Consulting by TaxAssist and Payroll by TaxAssist) that you can introduce to clients and then refer to our dedicated teams of specialists at our support office to undertake the service delivery – helping you create multiple revenue streams for your business.
Our technical team operate a helpdesk, as well as delivering regulatory updates for your team, and we provide specialist support and mentoring for you as the owner. You’ll always be able to access the advice you need, whenever you need it.
Your role – and our role
As a TaxAssist franchisee you are in business for yourself, but not by yourself.
The goal is for you to work on the business rather than in it. That way, you’re growing an asset as well as your income.
You’ll spend your time growing your business attracting new clients and leading your team of loyal staff. We’ll guide you every step of the way to maximise both your income and asset value, all you need to do is follow the proven model – just like hundreds of people have before you.

TaxAssist Accountants named Finalist for 2025 Best Franchise Award
TaxAssist Accountants has been announced as a finalist in the ‘Best Franchise – Business to Business’ category at the Best Franchise Awards 2025, sponsored by Lloyds Bank.
The recognition follows the company’s 13th consecutive 5-Star Franchisee Satisfaction Award, based on outstanding feedback from franchisees across the UK.
Earlier this year, TaxAssist Accountants franchisees completed an independent survey conducted by WorkBuzz, where they were asked to anonymously provide feedback on areas including initial training, ongoing support, their relationship with the franchisor and whether they would recommend the franchise to a prospective franchisee. The top performing franchisors were then shortlisted as finalists for this year’s Best Franchise Awards.
James Mattam, Group Director of Franchising, said: “We’re tremendously proud to have received 5-Star Franchisee Satisfaction and to once again be recognised as one of the top-performing franchisors in the UK. These awards are always extra special and highly valued because they are based on positive feedback from our network of franchisees.
“We continually evolve and enhance our franchise offering and we look forward to sharing with the judges the exciting initiatives we’ve introduced in 2025 to drive franchisee growth and profitability.”
Steven Frost, CEO and founder of WorkBuzz, commented: “We’re delighted to recognise this year’s finalists in the Best Franchise Awards. Each of these franchisors has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to their franchisees, creating the right culture, support and opportunities for them to thrive. Being shortlisted is a tremendous achievement and reflects the hard work and dedication behind these exceptional franchise networks.”
The winners of the Best Franchise Awards 2025 will be announced on the 6th November during the British Franchise Association (bfa) Annual Conference, supported by WorkBuzz. The event brings together franchise professionals from across the UK to celebrate excellence and share best practice within the sector.
Being part of a franchise network is the best of both worlds... I get to make my own decisions about the business and yet we are part of this massive network made up of the very supportive franchisor, directors and staff, as well as the other franchisees
I am happy to report that I now have over 400 clients, which generate an income and flexibility in how I work that could not have been achieved on the corporate ladder I stepped off. Further, I know that the practice will be a valuable asset for my future when the time is right. The shops, along with my own marketing, and the initiatives of the TaxAssist Support Centre Team, have proved invaluable in helping me to build a substantial practice.
