As a TaxAssist Accountants franchisee, you can run a thriving accountancy and advisory business, enjoy a growing income from your efforts, and build a valuable asset to sell when the time is right.
You will be able to deliver a suite of accounting, tax, financial and advisory services to local business owners, contractors, freelancers, and their families from your welcoming high street premises.

Franchisees have worked both in practice and industry, banking, financial services, corporate and consulting, and some have been former successful business owners too.
Having a financial background is essential – the focus is on advising and supporting clients while your tech and team do the number crunching.
The Market
With the loss of the traditional bank manager and other advisory organisations, there is a gap that TaxAssist franchises are filling, as people seek a local trusted advisor for their business and personal financial affairs.
Demand is constant, with evolving tech automating many of the basic services. Franchisees and their teams harness this to deliver a suite of accounting, tax and advisory work, with a relationship-led approach.

Alongside these core services, you’ll have multiple additional service lines (Financial Planning by TaxAssist, Tax Consulting by TaxAssist and Payroll by TaxAssist) that you can introduce to clients and then refer to our dedicated teams of specialists at our support office to undertake the service delivery – helping you create multiple revenue streams for your business.
Our technical team operate a helpdesk, as well as delivering regulatory updates for your team, and we provide specialist support and mentoring for you as the owner. You’ll always be able to access the advice you need, whenever you need it.
Your role – and our role
As a TaxAssist franchisee you are in business for yourself, but not by yourself.

TaxAssist Accountant Hannah Campbell Named as Finalist for Woman Franchisee of the Year Award
Hannah Campbell has been named a finalist at the prestigious NatWest Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWiF) Awards 2025.

The NatWest EWiF Awards celebrate the achievements of women in the UK franchising sector, recognising exceptional innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit. This nomination highlights Hannah’s remarkable journey and her outstanding success in the franchise industry.
Hannah joined TaxAssist Accountants in 2014 at the age of 24. Over the past decade, she has risen from Assistant Practice Manager to become a 100% shareholder of the business in 2023. Operating from four locations in Dalkeith, Leith, Fairmilehead, and Musselburgh, her business is on track to achieve £1m in turnover within the next few years.
“I’m thrilled to be a finalist in these awards,” said Hannah. “I’m incredibly passionate about supporting my clients, empowering my team, and encouraging other women in business. I genuinely love what I do, and every day presents new challenges and opportunities to grow.”
Hannah also shared her appreciation for the unique advantages of being a TaxAssist franchisee. “Being part of a franchise offers the best of both worlds – independence in decision-making while being supported by a fantastic network. The guidance from the franchisor, fellow franchisees, and staff members has been invaluable, and I love exchanging ideas and best practices with others in the network.”

Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWiF) is an organisation dedicated to empowering women at every stage of their franchising journey, from those considering a leap into franchising to those already established in the industry. The EWiF Awards serve as a celebration of these achievements and as an inspiration to other women looking to make their mark in the world of franchising.
The EWiF Awards ceremony will take place in London on Thursday, 15th May 2025.
Being part of a franchise network is the best of both worlds... I get to make my own decisions about the business and yet we are part of this massive network made up of the very supportive franchisor, directors and staff, as well as the other franchisees
I am happy to report that I now have over 400 clients, which generate an income and flexibility in how I work that could not have been achieved on the corporate ladder I stepped off. Further, I know that the practice will be a valuable asset for my future when the time is right. The shops, along with my own marketing, and the initiatives of the TaxAssist Support Centre Team, have proved invaluable in helping me to build a substantial practice.
I looked at a variety of businesses within franchising but none of them gave me that spark until I looked at TaxAssist Accountants. I felt I could use my experience gained from working within a professional accountancy practice, and I very much enjoyed the buzz associated with helping small businesses.
