Right at Home delivers the kind of care you would want for your own family
Our trusted services are highly personalised and go the extra mile to help people live happily and independently in their own homes.
It takes something special to create a homecare business that’s ranked as a leader by:
Clients & families: the UK’s highest rated national homecare group on the country’s largest care review website, homecare.co.uk, with a score of 9.9/10 based on over 3,500 reviews
The regulator: 34% of CQC-inspected branches rated Outstanding, against a national average of 3% of homecare providers
Its franchisees: We have the best track record in the care sector for franchisee satisfaction, with 11 consecutive years of Five Star Franchise awards to our name
Social care and franchise sectors: We have won multiple awards over the years, including the coveted Established Franchisor of the Year Award at the 2024 BFA HSBC UK British Franchising Awards and the Most Outstanding National Home Care Provider – Gold accolade at the 2024 Homecare Awards.
It’s the kind of reputation that can only be achieved when a franchisor’s leadership and passionate support teams work seamlessly with a collaborative, engaged network of like-minded franchisees.
And that can only happen when all stakeholders in the business share the same values, from CareGivers to managers and from founder to franchisees.
As a Right at Home franchise owner, we would support you to recruit an experienced care manager and a team of fantastic CareGivers. Your role would focus on business and people development, implementing our blended marketing strategy to attract high calibre staff, and self-funding clients looking for the best services available in the area.
We would also give you the tools to maintain exemplary standards of compliance within this highly regulated industry.
Successful franchisees are highly motivated to help other people, enjoy networking and engaging with their local community.
The support we receive from National Office is second-to-none. As a care business, they have a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Tapping into this has been immensely beneficial at each stage of my business development
As part of a national franchise network, staying ahead of the curve with marketing is crucial. Managing by myself can be overwhelming, and that's where the National Office marketing team really helps. They have been a source of reassurance, providing helpful guidance and responsive support. Allowing me to be creative, whilst enhancing my marketing strategy when promoting my franchise online. I highly recommend anyone in our network to reach out.
As I didn’t come from a care background, I was very conscious that I needed the backing of a solid organisation behind me, and since I started, Right at Home has delivered. I feel genuinely supported – the National Office team are always a phone call away and emails are always responded to. I feel very valued and, also, supported by my peers in the network who all work collaboratively together. I’ve never looked back and I’m really happy with my decision to join Right at Home.”

Second Outstanding rating for Right at Home Solent & Southampton
The Care Quality Commission found that the franchise provides exceptional care to its Clients
We are proud to announce that Right at Home Solent & Southampton has been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission for the second time.
The business has retained its Outstanding rating from its first-ever inspection in 2018, following a review in December 2023.
This is a significant achievement for the service, with only 4% of homecare providers across England receiving the highest possible grading last year.
The Solent franchise was started by Kev Popat, a former accountant, and his wife Amy, an experienced Optometrist, in 2015.
The pair went on to win the Franchisee of the Year and Customer Engagement Awards at the 2019 bfa Franchise Awards for their incredible business acumen and their unwavering commitment to staff, Clients and wider community.
And last year, Amy won an Encouraging Women into Franchising Award for her achievements in promoting workplace diversity and fostering a welcome and secure working environment.
So, what makes Right at Home Solent and Southampton Outstanding?
The Franchise Owners and their team received glowing praise from the CQC for providing person-centred quality care in people’s homes, helping them maintain their independence and improve their quality of life.
It found the business to be a passionate, values-led provider, creating a “family-feel culture” at every level of its offering.
One employee praised the service, commenting: “They picked me up and showed me my worth and potential, they gave me a lot of praise and it is a joy to work here.”
Right at Home Solent & Southampton achieved the highest possible rating in two out of five domains – Caring and Responsive – and was rated ‘Good’ for being Safe, Well-led and Effective.
Kev and Amy Popat said: “We are thrilled to retain our second Outstanding rating from the CQC. What we have accomplished is incredible and we could not have done it without our amazing CareGivers, who are the jewel in our crown, and our office team, who are hugely passionate about providing quality care. We are so proud to have such an incredible workforce.”
News of the Outstanding rating tops off a great year for Right at Home Solent, which recently received the 5 Star Employer Award from employee engagement platform, WorkBuzz.
And last summer, the office team raised over £1000 for Alzheimer's Society and local charity Caraway, which supports the wellbeing of older people living in Southampton.
