Hive Thinking's First Franchise Owner
Kim Lawler of Hive Thinking Derby describes the benefits of being a Hive Thinking Franchisee.
I’m proud to be Hive Thinking’s first Franchise Owner. Immersing myself in the Derby business community has been incredibly rewarding. I've gained a deeper understanding of how businesses operate and built strong relationships with the owners and other business professionals. The knowledge I've acquired has been invaluable for my own ventures, and helping other business owners turn their ideas into reality has been immensely gratifying. I wasn’t enjoying it before, and I didn’t know why – you helped me shine a light on this issue and fix it.”
Initially, I aimed to create themed Hive groups based on different industries. However, I soon realized that diversity is the key to a vibrant Hive group. The varied perspectives within the group create a dynamic environment that encourages business owners to think outside the box. Witnessing those “aha” moments and then working individually with owners to implement ideas is incredibly exciting.
One of my biggest learning curves was understanding that coaching isn’t about sharing my own ideas and suggestions. With the guidance of Paul and David through role play, 1-1 coaching sessions, and group meetings, I’ve refined my approach to help others unlock their potential. When they invite my input, I gladly share, but my primary role is to create an environment where they can navigate their own growth journeys. Mastering this has made seeing their success even more fulfilling.
Hive Thinking is at the heart of everything I do. It energizes me and has allowed me to build strong professional relationships and friendships. Being part of the Derby business community and making a positive impact on our local economy is something I’m truly proud of.
