Banana Moon Day Nursery
Rewarding on so many Different Levels!
Do you have energy and enthusiasm and enjoy working with children? Are you ready to take your first step towards a whole new start? The Banana Moon Day Nursery franchise enables you to build your own successful day nursery under our highly-respected brand. Operating one of our Day Nursery franchises is rewarding on so many different levels. Certainly the business is extremely profitable, and successful nurseries have a significant resale value if you later decide to sell the business.
Some franchisees will look at this as an investment opportunity, and recruit staff to handle the day-to-day running of the nursery. Others will prefer to be more ‘hands on’, and get involved in the fun and friendly world of childcare – either way, the business can be structured to suit what you need both in terms of financial and personal rewards.
About the Business
There is of course a very large market for our service, but we recognise – from our own personal experience – that in order to succeed we need to consistently exceed the expectations of our customers. The parents who visit us never fail to be impressed by our unique approach to childcare; friendly knowledgeable staff, sophisticated CCTV security, biometric entry systems, full air-conditioning, high-quality dietary provisions – these are just some of the facilities which make parents choose a Banana Moon Day Nursery over any other. By becoming part of our brand and operating to our same exacting standards, you too can enjoy the levels of success enjoyed by our original nurseries and benefit from the strength of the brand nationwide.
We have developed a unique system which is loved by parents and children alike, but the key to our success is in maintaining extremely high standards across all of our nurseries. Our systems for safety and security are second to none, ensuring a safe, caring and fun environment which parents love to recommend to their friends and families.
Becoming a Franchisee
As a franchisee you will receive all of the training, support and guidance necessary to get your business up and running quickly and painlessly, reducing the risks normally associated with business start-ups as you will be following our own proven system. We will work with you to develop a tailored business plan, help you identify premises, locate staff and find customers. Most importantly, we are committed to ensuring your business succeeds, so we will always be on hand to help you grow your business. There will be investment required, and building any new business requires hard work and dedication, but running your own Banana Moon Day Nursery is hugely rewarding in so many ways - and not just financially!
The Investment
When you come to see us, one of the things we shall discuss in more detail will be the financial implications of becoming a Banana Moon Day Nursery franchisee and the type of premises you will need. It’s worth mentioning at this stage that finding premises is one of the hardest parts of the whole process, and depending upon the condition of the building and the terms of the lease, the costs can be significant. However, once we have helped you find the premises we supply all of the equipment, training and guidance you need to get you started in our new, enhanced franchise package for just £47,500 + VAT.There will be additional costs in preparing to open and your total investment will vary depending upon the size and location of the premises, the terms of lease and condition of the building. If we also allow for the working capital to cover your costs throughout the first year or so, the likely total investment will usually be between £300,000 and £400,000. As the bank will lend you some, but not all, of this we would estimate that you should have liquid capital (cash) reserves of at least £100,000 before applying for a franchise).
Can I Get Finance?
We have good relationships with the main High Street banks, most of whom will advance you between 50% and 75% of the funding required. They will of course require you to present them with a business plan showing how you intend to build your business, and we will be pleased to assist you in the production of this.If you would like to learn more about a Banana Moon Day Nursery franchise, please submit an enquiry form below!
Banana Moon Day Nursery franchise launches defibrillator campaign across its network, supporting franchise’s proposition to local parents and safeguarding local communities
The first CardiAid defibrillator was unveiled in Hatton in July.
The franchise believes the initiative not only supports the local communities in which the nurseries operate, but also adds to the already-attractive franchise proposition.
Mark Bates, Founder and Managing Director, commented:
“We’re extremely proud to launch our ‘Little hearts, bright futures’ initiative. This lifesaving equipment will help us to ensure our children have the best chance of a bright future, no matter what life throws at us. It also reassures our parents that their little ones are in the best possible care in our nursery settings. And it’s also good news for our franchisees, as it cements our commitment to best practice in the childcare industry.”
Banana Moon launched in 2006 and began to franchise the business in 2010, with 10 franchises signing up in the first year. The network now has 47 locations across the UK with an average of five nurseries opening each year. Last year, the company announced they had been accredited as FMembers of the British Franchise Association (bfa) – the only nursery franchise to do so.
Mark continued:
“The childcare industry can be extremely competitive, but we’ve repeatedly proven our credentials over the past 13 years. Our latest campaign gives added credibility to our already-attractive franchise proposition. Parents are reassured by our nurseries being part of a successful national franchise, meaning they have the support of a hugely experienced national team and access to initiatives such as ‘Little hearts, bright futures’.”
The ‘Little hearts, bright futures’ initiative means members of the communities local to the nurseries are within minutes of the AED, boosting the survival chances of people who have an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA).
A defibrillator plays an essential role in the chances of bringing someone back from an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. According to the British Heart Foundation (BHF), early CPR and defibrillation can double the chances of surviving an OHCA.1 The devices will be registered with local ambulance services, who can direct 999 callers to the defibrillators, meaning vital treatment can commence prior to the ambulance arriving.
Mike Bates, Banana Moon Founder and Chairman, commented:
“Despite our growth over the past two decades, we proudly remain a family business at our heart. Three generations of my family currently work in the business. Family is so important to us, which is why we’re so hands-on with our franchisees – we’re always thinking of ways to support them in delivering exceptional childcare.
“We hope our ‘Little hearts, bright futures’ campaign will raise awareness of AEDs and the difference they can make, and we encourage other nursery groups and franchises to do the same.”
Kully Shahi Owner of Banana Moon Day Nursery in Wollaton and Littleover said:
“Our ‘Little hearts, bright futures’ defibrillator is a testament to the support we get from being a part of the Banana Moon franchise and their commitment to the health and well-being of everyone in our care. While we hope these AEDs won’t be needed, we hope they give reassurance to parents and members of our community. Here’s to little hearts and bright futures!”
