Muffin Break's stores and menu are designed around providing their customers with delicious coffee and freshly baked goods, they open for breakfast and close after afternoon tea. The selection of sweet and savoury items is baked everyday in the on-site kitchens to guarantee freshness, it includes gourmet pies, quiches, wraps, cakes, scones and cookies as well as the brand's famous muffins. The coffee beans are carefully sourced and roasted in a specialised roasting facility, resulting in an award-winning signature coffee blend. Muffin Break is part of Foodco, a leader in the retail food franchise market within Australia and New Zealand. The franchisee can open their own Muffin Break bakery café in a shopping centre, strip shop, airport, train station... Two formats are available: the Kiosk Bakery Café (approx. 27–30m2) and the In-line Bakery Café (approx. 80–120m2).

On-site training is conducted prior to store opening and for an initial opening period. On-going training and advice is provided to franchisees through regular visits by highly trained Muffin Break consultants appointed to assist each café. The management team oversee key areas of the business including administration, design and construction, development, finance, IT, legal, marketing, operations, product, supply, human resources and training. Muffin Break’s marketing department develops and implements marketing and advertising strategies. Stores are also provided with assistance and support in local marketing programs.
