In 1962, six of the leading hotels in the Netherlands joined together to help promote each and improve business. Their concept was successful and in 1975, the began the Golden Tulip Worldwide, with would franchise hotels and work in collaboration with the Royal Dutch Airlines. This strategy was very successful and today, there are 201 Golden Tulip Hotels in 46 countries.
