NatWest's Mark Scott On Financing A Franchise
Mark Scott sat down with Franchise Direct to discuss NatWest Bank, which he described as the market leader of the UK banks. According to Mark, NatWest has a large share of both the franchisors and franchisees, having been involved in franchising for over 25 years.
Through this time, NatWest has developed a dedicated team to support franchising, and generally funds 70% of set-up costs for a proven and established franchise, and 50% of costs for a newer business. They also have package with special interest rates for particular franchises, which are slightly lower than the standard fees.
NatWest also offers advice and seminars in helping people choose the right franchise for them. By giving an independent view of things like projected income, people will better be able to tell if this is realistic or just hot air from the franchisor.
