When The Music Stops Dating Franchise

Christine and Julia Tucker Find Success With When the Music Stops

Christine and Julia Tucker's Success With When the Music Stops

christina_juliaSisters Christine and Julia Tucker joined When the Music Stops in 2005 and have now been successfully running events for almost 3 years. They are based in Sheffield and were one of the first Franchise Partners within When the Music Stops.

The events that they run are of the highest quality and they have been tremendously successful during the lifetime of the franchise which is based in Sheffield city centre.

The sisters concentrate mainly on Speed Dating but prefer to put the emphasis away from the word ‘speed’ and Christine and Julia’s events are run a little more slowly at a leisurely pace, which has been a winning formula for them. Their events are often sold out and sometimes tickets (particularly for ladies) can be hard to come by. Such is the demand for their services.

They also utilise the Private Portfolio Service option within When the Music Stops and have enjoyed some real success in bringing people together through one to one introductions. This is a service for the more discerning individual, which emanates from a personal visit to the clients home or a convenient location nearby. Ultimately we present the client with 12 carefully matched ‘dates’ over the ensuing 12 months.

We talked to Christine and Julia about their successes:

What were your objectives when you first applied to get involved as a Franchise Partner?

We both enjoy socialising and meeting new people, we were aware of the dating/singles marketplace in the UK and felt that getting involved would be an interesting way of expanding our social lives.

We saw the When the Music Stops advert in one of our local newspapers, so I found the website and were very impressed. So we decided to check out one of the Dinner Dating events at a City Centre restaurant. We had a great night, so that made up our minds for us.

How well is working together as sisters going down so far?

Yes it works very well and I very much would recommend the WTMS business as a good one to run jointly with a partner, sisters or not! Christine is more the back office person and the organiser, she produces the marketing material and organises events. Julia is more the front of house person and the marketer in the field. Christine says, "It definitely helps to have a second person involved, adds to the professionalism at events and generally gives us an edge, I feel it has been a major factor in our success."

Why when the Music Stops?

I was sold on the marketplace and felt it was a very sociable sort of environment in which to work. But when we attended our first event, I felt that we could do it better and the reason we have been successful is, I think we have achieved that goal. Little things count for so much. I ensure I speak to everyone at the event, organise it so we can meet with all participants and put people at ease, check they’re enjoying it and ask for feedback too. How does it compare with their expectations?  We operate our own GUARANTEE at our events that they will HAVE a great night and meet new friends, even if the love of their life isn’t present. Positive body language is so important, shake hands, touch an elbow, make time for then, tell them how the evening unfolds. There is also a very special for people coming alone. Put the emphasis on THEM, it really works!

What have been your impressions so far?

We have loved our involvement with When the Music Stops. The training initially set us on the right path, it was just about right, not too much, not too little. The website we have been provided with has improved dramatically over the year and a bit we have been involved too, all sorts of additions have made our lives so much easier over this period. For example we can now send our dating ‘matches’ out at the touch of a button after each event and our event reconciliation is now very easy too, little things like that have appeared quite frequently and without prompting. It’s a franchise that has been right for us and one that can fit around busy lives and existing commitments too. We would thoroughly endorse it and recommend others to choose When the Music Stops. So why not come and join the team?
