TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Franchise Video
Franchise Partner Profile: Alistair Sheddon
When former naval and BOC engineer Alistair Sheddon decided to change franchises after a successful period running a locksmith business, the opportunity that most appealed was Two Men and a Truck.
Seeking a better work life balance, Alistair recognised a clear business opportunity people could buy into, with franchises run more like an inclusive family team rather than just a place of work.
Cutting his teeth working for the UK master franchise operation from 2013, Alistair graduated a year later to running his own franchise in Brentford, West London. He now has three trucks on the road, eight removal staff and a two person administrative team back in the office – including his daughter Laura.
What still impresses Alistair most about the Two Men And A Truck franchise, are the excellent training opportunities available. “Our annual general meetings are over in the States in great locations like New Orleans,” he says. “The delivery and content of the training is superb, but what I especially love is the team bonding which takes place amongst all the business owners. It really is like a big family.”
Another attraction about running a Two Men and a Truck franchise is the “cash rich” nature of the business model.
“You get paid 48 hours before each job,” says Alistair, “so cash flow is always in your favour. We’ve never had an overdraft with the bank which is great for a start up.”
Alistair has plans to expand his business by adding extra trucks to increase revenue and then into additional territories in the future,. “This is not a one hit wonder,” he says, “we’re going to replicate our success in other areas.”
And what does the self-confessed workaholic do when he’s not building his Two Men and a Truck empire? “I love fishing,” says Alistair, “we have a boat out on the Solent and try to enjoy that when we can.”
Hard work is a theme that runs through Alistair’s life, and he thinks anyone prepared to graft will reap the rewards from the proven Two Men and a Truck model. “Although this is a new brand in the UK it is a dominant brand in North America and we get nothing but positive feedback,” says Alistair. “It’s a business opportunity with integrity, which will provide you with a comfortable living if you’re prepared to work for it.”
