TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Franchise Video
Scott Cumming was drawn to the brand ethos of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®
Having previously worked as a Commercial Manager in a general haulage business, Scott Cumming understood the transport and logistics industry. He joined the corporate side of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® and quickly grew to love the people involved and particularly what the brand stands for. So in July 2014 he became a franchisee for the Windsor area.
Scott says: "TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is a fairly unfamiliar brand in the UK but when you start to learn about the history and how it’s grown to become the fourth largest moving company in the world you understand why it’s such a successful business with a 96% referral rate from customers."
Once he’d got to know the company, the opportunity to run his own TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchise was one that felt 100% right. So much so that he didn’t look at any other franchise opportunities, he was totally committed to a brand he felt very comfortable with.
Scott continues: "The training largely took place in the US and was a great experience. As well as learning about the history of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® and the current size and scale of the business, I felt it was aimed at helping and enhancing me as a businessman."
He started his business working out of the Hayes depot and then moved his team to Slough six months later.
Scott explains: "I’ve currently got 12 staff and three trucks of varying capacity so we can handle small or large moves. The feedback we’re getting from the clients is very good so my aim over the next five years is to grow the brand recognition and ensure people understand that we’re more than the name suggests. I also want to build on the current structure and have six or seven trucks. In the meantime, I’m focused on the day-to-day running of the business including managing my teams and developing the business."
Outside of work Scott has a young family so he’s enjoying being his own boss so he can work the business around the needs of his family.
“It’s been hard work getting the business up and running but lots of fun and very rewarding. I’d say it’s a great opportunity for people who aren’t afraid of hard work and have an open mind about working with a fantastic and proven brand as it grows in the UK,” concludes Scott.
