After a successful 20-year career in HR management and consultancy, I wanted to make a lifestyle and career change. I was very attracted to recruitment, but didn’t want to work for an agency, with the constant pressure and targets. I looked at setting up on my own, but the individual job boards were prohibitively expensive, as were all of the franchises I looked at – some were as much as £50,000! Then I found Additional Resources and, as you could sign up for an initial period, it didn’t seem too much to lose if it didn’t work out, although I decided to carry on working part-time elsewhere for a while just in case.
Initially I was also a bit sceptical about the promises made by Additional Resources – it all seemed a bit too good to be true! However, my fears were groundless and from day one, Russell and Tracy have done everything they said they would do, and more. However much previous experience you may have, you don’t know everything, and both Tracy and Russell have been endlessly generous in their time, advice and practical help.
Working from home on your own means that you do have to be disciplined, and there are days when everything goes wrong and you have to have the resilience to pick yourself up and move on. However, if you’re organised, like dealing with people on the phone and are prepared to put in the hours, you can make a good living, and Russell and Tracy will do everything they reasonably can to support you. If you’re thinking about a recruitment franchise, I’d recommend Additional Resources without reservation.
