When we found the business opportunity, we were both self employed. I was an HR Consultant working long hours with no pension, and David was a hairdresser struggling with the worries about overheads and staffing in his salon.
In Jan 2006 we looked for another source of income which would not need us to give up our established businesses. We considered a number of home based opportunities but all required too much investment which meant we would have more debt.
When we found this opportunity, it had several benefits – low cost start up, we could work in it together and, because it was in the wellness industry, we could help others and get healthier at the same time.
We started working the business on a very part time basis, alongside our other jobs and within 12 months we were earning an extra GBP 1000 per month.
We recognised that this business is now our future and so David decided to give up his salon and gradually cut down the hairdressing until in Jan 2007 he was able to work on our 60 Minute Money business full time. We have been able to see the results straight away so we know that it was the right decision. Now we are aiming for us both to be working at home, full time, together by 2008.
