A number of vendors were present over the weekend. Paul Balkwell from Continuum explained their plans for expanding their UK office and presence which was well received by all. Alan Thake of Eset Security gave us an update to how well their anti-virus and security products are doing. The new mobile and laptop anti-theft is now included in the full security suite. Did we know that Eset is the only AV that has never missed a virus in the wild in the last 16 years?
Ronnie Huss joined us from Electro-Box to present a new product Watchbot which was well received by all franchisees who can’t wait to add this device to their portfolio. There were presentations regarding business processes with franchisees explaining how the processes work that they use in their own businesses.
The theme of the weekend was a competition where groups of franchisees competed throughout to build a customer proposal with the customer role competently played by Kim Weinberger. The franchisees spent many hours interviewing the customer and preparing a presentation and proposal over the weekend before finally being judged and winners decided.
We are assured that attempts to bribe the judge in the bar on Saturday evening did not have any effect on the outcome! The winners were announced and presented with prizes on Sunday afternoon after each group explained to the conference how they had arrived at their different proposals.
There was excitement as a new CT Business Solutions programme was announced including a marketing template. This will be a work in progress for some time and will form the basis of the future business strategy for franchisees.
There were open discussions regarding new websites which have just been implemented and Social media marketing in our business arena. There was some animated discussion with good points being made by a number of franchisees.
The weekend ended with presentations being made to:
- Kishore Tailor (North Leicester) for 5 years service award and to Steve Rice (Tonbridge) for a 10 year service award. Congratulations to them both.
- Zeljko Ruskaj for completing his new owner franchise training in the days prior to the conference. Zeljko will be opening his new business in Dudley, West Midlands.
- Winners and Runners up for “The Challenge” all received prizes, some larger than others, some more studious than others but everyone appeared pleased with their options.
- Gill Arnott of CT North Manchester received a special award for the Most Unique Marketing Idea and received a Green Bay Packers Shirt and a Shot glass brought from Wisconsin by Kim. Gill’s marketing idea of CT Bear is expected to produce a number of smaller bears in the coming months.
So the event ended on a high note and franchisees returned home invigorated and renewed ready to face the business challenges for the coming year. The forum messages started soon after!
“A pleasure to meet Kim and fellow franchisees, new and old. Took away a lot of valuable learning points and feel re-energized to try and push on with my business.”
“Winning the team challenge has to be right up there as the proudest moment of my CT Business Solutions career.”
“It was a really great opportunity for us new or you can call “young” franchisees. I learned a lot from this conference. I would also like to thank our old (not talking about age here!) franchisees for their help, advice and tips. I am already waiting for next conference and challenge.”
“Does this mean the forum is now working? Can CT Bear have a login please he wants to join !! He’ll be a prolific forum reader and poster.”
“Had a great weekend and I NEED a Watchbot immediately. Great to meet everyone. Grudgingly well done to Team C for winning the challenge. I do think we were robbed. Kim was fantastic and I love my T-shirt and egg-cup.”
“I have learnt a lot and it was great to meet so many colleagues, most for the first time.”
“Thoroughly enjoyed everyone’s company as usual, and look forward to next year – might we see little bears coming along?”
