Card Connection Appoints New Franchisee for Loughborough / Leicester Areas
October 2, 2008
Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection has today announced it has appointed new franchisee, Mark Miller, to take over the Loughborough / Nuneaton and Leicester / East Corby areas.
Mark, previously a senior operations manager for the AA in the Midlands, combines the two territories as part of Card Connection’s strategy to encourage franchisees to take advantage of economies of scale through running bigger businesses.
“Our most successful franchisees run large areas, usually employing a small team of staff to pack and distribute cards from a warehouse, using liveried vans,” confirms Andrew Cutler, franchise director, at Card Connection. “As a result, the owners of these businesses have been able to improve their profit margins significantly and therefore we are encouraging existing and new franchisees like Mark to take up the challenge of managing a larger operation."
“Mark is starting out small by working on his own – while he learns the ropes,” continues Cutler. “However, with his skills and expertise gained from working in sales and operations management environments he quickly plans to recruit a packer and merchandiser to help him focus on developing the business in order to maximise profits.”
“I looked into various franchises including other card companies but Card Connection stood out from the crowd,” explains Mark Miller. “In addition to being a full member of the BFA, the high-level of back-up and support from the professional head-office team combined with the quality and diversity of the product really made Card Connection the only logical choice."
“I am delighted to be joining an established franchise with a respected brand and yet retain the autonomy associated with running my own business,” continues Miller. “The potential for growth within the business is also exiting and I am looking forward to using my skills to optimise this over the coming years.”
GREAT! WHAT'S MY NEXT STEP?
