Apollo Blinds confirmed as UK’s leading franchise network
September 10, 2007
Apollo Blinds has cemented its position as the UK’s leading window blinds retailer ahead of the most important date in the franchising calendar – National Franchise Week (1–7 October).
Apollo Blinds has cemented its position as the UK’s leading window blinds retailer ahead of the most important date in the franchising calendar – National Franchise Week (1–7 October).
Britain’s biggest blinds store chain was identified as the leading franchise operator as the industry gears up for the biggest franchising exhibition of the year at Birmingham’s NEC.
The company, which has 85 showrooms across the UK, will be attending the two-day exhibition buoyed by the news that public awareness of its brand is at an all-time high.
A recent survey placed Apollo Blinds at the top of the league of window blinds franchisors in an expanding market, which has seen sustained growth over the last few years.
Speaking on behalf of Hunter Douglas, the Dutch company that owns Apollo Blinds, Richard Greaves said that the research highlighted the growing strength of the retail chain as it seeks to expand its network.
“Our position as the leading window blinds franchisor sends out a very powerful message to potential investors who want to be part of Britain’s biggest blinds store chain,” said Mr Greaves.
“There has been a lot of investment in the Apollo Blinds brand to differentiate it in the marketplace and reflect the network’s ability to provide inspiring ideas which are expertly delivered.
“And this is paying off not only in terms of the public’s recognition of the brand but also because sales are up and we have plenty of enquiries from investors who want to start their own business as part of the Apollo Blinds network.”
The results are further justification for the company that has adopted a strategy that bucks the trend within the window blinds industry. Whilst most other window blinds companies have mobile agents or franchisees, Apollo Blinds has been very successful in extending its network of retail showrooms.
The company believes there are fundamental advantages to having retail premises, with the main one being that customers can visit the showrooms to get advice and information about blinds before they invite a consultant into their homes to measure up and give a quote.
“There are definite advantages to having retail premises – especially given that consumers are more informed than ever before and they value the advice and expertise offered by our trained franchisees,” said Mr Greaves.
“And this is the message we are keen to get across at the BFA exhibition because Apollo Blinds is going from strength to strength and there has never been a better time to become part of Britain’s biggest blinds store chain.”
