Aspray Property Services Southampton, based in Rownhams, covering the whole of the west Hampshire and Wiltshire areas, begins operation this November. They will provide a one stop shop for all kinds of property repair, offering a free service to the public that project-manages building insurance claims and refurbishment schemes, using local and qualified subcontractors.
Their service is aimed at relieving the stress and anxiety for those suffering from damage to their property whilst coping with the insurance company and their protocol.
Bernadette Lloyd joined the Aspray Franchise after working for 25 years in Information Technology (IT) for a number of organisations including one large international corporation in their account business management team. Leaving the corporate world behind to be the boss of her own business means she will be swapping technical and business project management for damage to property project management.
“When people experience damage to their homes or businesses it’s not only physical damage – emotionally people can be affected drastically. Their livelihoods, their comfort and their health can all be an issue. We aim to take away as much of the stress as possible” said Bernadette.
Severe weather this summer and global warming trends as they are, this type of disaster is not uncommon. Many people were left in uninhabitable houses with nowhere to turn to and some contractors cashing in on the misery by charging these people a fortune to dry out property before any work could begin. Aspray do not charge the individual for any work that is part of an insurance claim. All bills are paid direct from the insurance company.
Bernadette is a strong believer in “prevention is better than cure” and has created a leaflet to help safe guard against disaster. It details the top ten simple tasks people can do to secure their homes. They include tasks for inside and out and everyone should be doing them to prepare for the coming winter.
