ANTENATAL CLASS FRIENDSHIP GIVES BIRTH TO SUCCESSFUL CHILDCARE BUSINESS
May 8, 2008
Two women from Macclesfield who met at an antenatal class have set up a successful Tinies childcare business together.
Two women from Macclesfield who met at an antenatal class have set up a successful childcare business together.
Clare Kewney, 32, and Clare Riley, 29, have opened Cheshire’s first branch of Tinies, the UK's leading childcare agency.
The pair met and became friends whilst attending an antenatal group when each was expecting their first child.
Their offices are based in Macclesfield and Wilmslow but from there they will be covering the whole of the North West.
Clare Riley began working for Tinies four years ago, whereas Clare Kewney was a nursery nurse and nanny before re-training and qualifying to set up her own business in Hearing Aid Audiology. Both women live in Macclesfield.
Their aim is to ease the burden of parents in the North West by searching, checking, interviewing and booking the best childcare available.
The business finds nannies and maternity nurses for parents, staff for nurseries and babysitters. They also provide crèches for all events whether it's a wedding crèche, a permanent facility for a club, gym or hotel, or a mobile crèche for a birthday party, launch party or conference.
All potential childcare staff have excellent qualifications and enhanced CRB checks as well as being personally interviewed by the two Clares before they are even able to register with the Cheshire branch.
Clare Kewney said it was exciting to open a branch of Tinies in Cheshire.
“Clare and I are both very similar in the fact that we are both very ambitious. We wanted to expand our horizons and childcare is something that we are both very passionate and know a lot about,” she said.
Clare Riley added: “For many families both parents are working. There is nothing more important than getting the right childcare and that is what we are there to do.”
