John worked in further education before deciding to buy a Driver Hire franchise. He’ll be joined in the business by his son, Richard and Richard Bartram.
The Danish army inadvertently led John Bevan to Driver Hire. He was in a serious collision with one of their vehicles. As a result John took voluntary redundancy from his job as Head of Business & Management studies at a local college. “I was looking for a business I could run with my son, Richard. Something that was future proof with plenty of opportunities for growth. Driver Hire ticked all the boxes,” John explains.
Having taught business management for many years, John is keen to put theory into practice. “There’s lots of potential in terms of both the market and the business itself. In common with the much of the UK the area has suffered over the past few years, but I’m seeing some green shoots of recovery. And I’m planning to prove that Driver Hire is about much more than just driving by growing and developing the business in new areas of recruitment.”
“Driver Hire has an excellent reputation, built up over 30 years, for service and reliability,” says John. “We’ll continue to source and supply the quality drivers customers need to make their business work; from chauffeurs to HGV, delivery van to fork lift. We can help with warehouse and logistics support staff too. I'm looking forward to assisting businesses in Swansea with all their recruitment needs.”
