Marshall Transport had never ventured into promotional items. Then the company received a mailshot from Elspeth and Adrian Simpson, who run the RE franchise nearby.
Marshall requested a catalogue, and placed an order for 250 mugs and 250 coasters bearing the green logo and website address of the company. The products will go out to new and existing customers.
Elspeth and Adrian were delighted to welcome a newcomer to corporate recognition products, despite – and possibly because of – the recession.
“Times are hard, and we need to find a new way of knocking on doors. We decided this was a new avenue for potentially increasing business,” said Mark Pelling from Marshall Transport in Selborne, Alton. He operates a refrigerated courier service of goods such as salads, ice cubes and vaccines.
Elspeth and Adrian, whose RE franchise business is based in Alton, specialise in corporate recognition products such as badges, signs, business gifts, plaques, awards and promotional products. They have been running the franchise since 2006.
They produced the mugs and coasters for Marshall within three weeks of getting the order.
“It goes to show it isn’t all gloom and doom out there,” said Adrian. “Whilst we’re in a recession, it’s vital to get your promotions in order so that potential customers know how to find you. After the recession, yours will be the name they remember.”
