The awards were presented at a formal black-tie awards ceremony at the Conrad Hotel, Dublin on Thursday November 22nd, 2007. The Irish Franchise Awards, sponsored by Ulster Bank, which recognise excellence in franchising, are notably prestigious this year as the franchise sector has recently shown spectacular growth and an increase in turnover to €2.099 billion with currently 270 active systems in Ireland providing 25,461 jobs.
Bill Holohan is, uniquely in Ireland, qualified as a Solicitor, a Commissioner for Oaths, a Notary Public, a Chartered Arbitrator, a CEDR Accredited Mediator, an Irish Trade Mark Agent, & an EU Community Trade Mark Practitioner.
Mr. Holohan's business knowledge is not confined solely to an advisory role. In addition to acting as solicitor and advisor to private clients and business clients he is the company secretary and/or company director of a number of companies carrying on different types of business. He was a founding shareholder and Director and Company Secretary of the Aura Leisure group of companies, which in 2007 won both the Overall 02 Ability Award for “Best Company in the Private Sector 2007”, and the E.I.Q.A. “Best Management Team” Award.
Mr Holohan is the co-author of a number of books on Bankruptcy, Leasing, Civil Procedures, Insolvency, Bankruptcy and the Rescue of Companies, as well as being the author of Booklets on “How to Franchise Your Business” and “Franchising Your Business – Issues to Consider,” which were compiled by him for the Irish Franchise Association, to which he is the Legal Advisor, as well as being an Executive Committee Member.
