Duckett said: “It was nice to be chosen as the franchising expert for the show, but more importantly, it was good that franchising is starting to appear on the radar of the mass media. However, it never ceases to surprise me how few business people are aware of what franchising really is and how it can be used as a strategy for cost effective growth. The Apprentice focuses on young people trying to launch embryonic businesses – you would think that franchising would be a matter for discussion and consideration on a regular basis.”
He went on to say: “We, who operate in the franchising arena, have a duty to spread the word – there are many businesses out there that wish to grow but don’t have the resources to pursue a traditional growth path, funding all of the expansion themselves. It would be to the benefit of both us in the franchise sector and the businesses themselves, if they were made aware of the possibilities for expansion that franchising offers.”
Duckett has been an “Evangelist” for franchising for over 30 years and The Franchising Centre holds regular free master classes and meetings for business owners who wish to discover more about franchising their business.
