The Olympian, who won the 100 metre breaststroke at the 1980 Olympic Games, is an ambassador for Premier Sport, the UK’s leading provider of physical education and sports coaching services to schools, whose mission is to inspire young people through PE and sport.
During Duncan’s visit to the schools, there will be a number of pupils from the surrounding area taking part in an inter-school sports competition. Duncan will be addressing all the teachers and pupils taking part and talking about the importance of sports competition from a young age. The children will get the unique opportunity to see his Olympic Gold medal and the torch he carried ahead of London 2012.
Duncan’s will then visit St Georges Primary to open a brand new state-of-the-art sports hall along with a number of other VIP’s invited by the school.
“I’m absolutely thrilled that Parklands Primary and St Georges Primary will be hosting inter-school competitions whereby local schools will go head to head against each other. I’m also thrilled to be opening the brand new sport hall at St Georges as well as meeting all the staff, parents and the pupils. I’m encouraged that the Premier Sport team are working in partnership with both schools to create future Olympic stars,” said Duncan.
Duncan is a founding ambassador of Premier Sport and has supported the company for over a decade. Commenting on his role with the company, Duncan comments: “Premier Sport is coordinating and supporting a team over 700 highly trained, qualified Activity Professionals across the country.
