The bullying got so serious his father sold the family home and moved away from the area as he feared the bullying would result in his 12 year old self-harming. That was until he started to attend Premier Sport PE lessons and extracurricular sessions at his new school.
An emotional father said: “We as a family are proud and thankful Premier Sport stepped in and became a role model to my son within the school environment. The relationship my son created with Premier Sport allowed him to overcome his inner demons of bullying, name-calling and other social issues that he spent years living with at his previous school.”
“I can now be safe in the knowledge my son is happy. This is something Premier Sport and Dan should be proud of”.
Premier Sport’s Physical Activity & Sports Co-ordinator, Dan Worthington said: “We (Premier Sport) have worked tirelessly with this individual by getting him involved in sport and even inspiring him to have the self motivation to join his local rugby team where his team mates see him as an integral part of the team. He never ever took part in PE and sport when I first came into the school following the bulling at his previous school.”
“I am proud that we (Premier Sport) have now created a happy environment for this year 6 pupil and his family.”
