Bluebird Care flying high after landing national award

September 11, 2008

Leading providers of personalised care at home, Bluebird Care, have scooped a national award for their top teamwork.

Bluebird Award WinnersThe Petersfield-based company, which has 34 franchise outlets throughout the UK, was presented with the Franchise Marketing Awards’ Team of the Year at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel.

"We have been successful simply because we offer an excellent service to our customers," said company co-founder Lisa Tarsey. "We have always based the service on the principle of 'Good Old-Fashioned Service' and that is what people want when choosing care in their own home. We have applied the same principles to supporting our franchise partners.”

Bluebird Care’s recruitment coordinator Laura Baggott, added: "People who want to set up their own business are frequently put off by the size of the task. Our franchise not only helps people through the maze, but also enables them to develop a successful business in their own area once the office is set up. All our franchisees enjoy not only the success, but also the opportunity to put something back into their community.”

Lisa set up the company in 2004 with her husband Paul, after the pair had notched up over 20 years’ caring experience between them. They were determined to deliver the sort of excellent care in people’s homes that you would provide to your own relative.

Paul said: “We offer a real alternative to someone moving into a residential home. We support families in setting up the support network they need to do this and this enables the customer to stay in their own home, where they would much rather be. It is also usually far cheaper than going into residential care.”

Bluebird Care, which has its HQ in Charles Street, Petersfield, has built up an impressive number of franchise offices in a relatively short time, and now has offices stretching from Exeter to Canterbury and Limerick to Glasgow.

The company specialises in working with customers and their families, alongside Social Services, GPs and Primary Care Trusts. They also offer live-in care for people who would like, or who need, a greater level of care provision.
