Recap: The Franchise Show in London, 2017

The Franchise Show in London was two days of successful socialising and selling for franchisors, franchisees, potential business owners, and industry members.

On Friday and Saturday, February 17 and 18, hundreds of members of the franchise sector flooded into ExCeL in London to promote their businesses, see what innovations had occurred over the past year, and attend seminars and speeches to continue their growth. Potential franchisees heard from businesses owners about available opportunities, marketing agencies showcased available strategies for expansion, and consultants led clients through rows and rows of franchise opportunities for sale.

Franchise Direct was in the thick of it; as the leading franchise portal in the UK, we were there to meet with clients and explain what we could offer to smaller, newer businesses looking to expand. We also explained to potential franchisees the wealth of knowledge on our site, from industry reports to news items to blog posts and success stories.

Visitors to the event were able to explore seemingly infinite franchise packages in one place, learning what appealed to them and what did not — all while picking up a few goodies along the way!

Tubz handed out sweets while explaining the basics of vending franchises; Gallone’s talked about their business while visitors ate ice cream with tiny spoons; The Massage Company kept the event from becoming stressful, letting visitors sit down for a free massage, one of the best selling-points for their business. The Fitness Space even showcased some of their fitness bikes and Monopoly Buy Sell Rent drew people in with a giant red balloon over their stand.

It is in the aftermath of the event that Franchise Direct really shines, though. Having collected information from a variety of franchisors, potential investors can be quite overwhelmed and want to dive a bit deeper into the business models and offerings, once they aren’t facing the time constraints of the exhibition.
