A necessary, rewarding and successful franchise opportunity
Help Home Instead Senior Care to change the face of ageing in the UK

Home Instead Senior Care Franchise Opportunity_1

When Trevor and Sam Brocklebank set up Home Instead Senior Care in 2006 they did so with one thing in mind – their purpose was to become the UK’s most admired care company through changing the face of ageing.

The couple realised that there was a gap in the UK market for a care business specialising in the care of older people having experienced problems accessing care for Trevor’s grandfather.  Back then little did they know that within 4 years their fledgling business would grow to a £10 million turnover success story with over 60 offices across England and Wales and is now the fastest-growing UK care franchise.

Home Instead Senior Care specialise in providing non-medical care in the home for older people. Such is the level of demand for their specialised services that in 2009 the company saw its revenues double from £5 million to £10 million and it opened 23 new offices with this growth rate looking to continue.

Commenting on the need for their service, Trevor says: “The world’s population of older people is growing at an ever-increasing rate and that isn’t going to change. Our government does not have the funds available to provide all the care required.  By offering a greater choice of care options we will be able to keep more people in their own homes, living relatively independent lives.”

Home Instead Senior Care Franchise Opportunity_2Unequalled quality of care

Home Instead care visits are typically of a minimum duration of one hour as the company believes this allows clients to receive the best quality of care and gain a real sense of companionship. It also provides Caregivers with high levels of job satisfaction and staff retention levels are high as a result.

Commenting Trevor said: “We are very different to traditional task based care agencies and offer a much broader range of services. By doing this we are bringing more people in to the at home care market as we are offering more choice. As well as personal care and light housekeeping we deliver companionship services.”

“One example of our unique approach is that we ensure that, whenever possible, our clients have the same Caregiver for each visit. We painstakingly match Caregivers to clients and look for areas of common interest or life experience so that there is an immediate connection.”

Recognition locally and nationally

The company is already being recognised as a leader in care of the elderly and last year picked up a string of awards including the NHS NW Dignity in Care Award, the Bromley Dignity In Care Award, winner and runner up for Outstanding Carer and winner for Outstanding Newcomer at Liverpool’s iCare Awards to name but a few.

Home Instead also has a string of business awards. They have received a nomination as a finalist as the ‘domiciliary care provider of the year’ at the Health Investor Awards. This nomination follows business awards which included Barclay’s UK Start Up Business of the Year, Barclay’s UK Start Up Team of the Year, BFA Franchisor of the Year Awards – HSBC Award for Enterprise and International Franchise Expansion Award (Franchise Marketing Awards). In addition Sam Brocklebank was chosen as one of North West Business Insider’s ‘42 under 42’ and she was also highly commended in the Cheshire Business Woman of the Year Award.

Home Instead Senior Care Franchise Opportunity_3International success

It’s not surprising that the company is so successful – Home Instead is part of an international business set up in the United States. The model for the way in which the business is run and how their special blend of care is delivered has been fine tuned over 16 years across more than 900 offices. The international turnover of the business is in the region of $750 million – that’s a lot of elderly people being cared for. The success is being demonstrated in the UK and Ireland with approximately 10 per cent of Home Instead franchises achieving a £1million turnover last year, most in their third year of trading.

Home Instead is proud to announce that it has just been awarded full membership of the BFA having demonstrated a sound trading and franchising record.

There are exclusive geographical territories available now.

Testimonials

“We have met a lot of Home Instead franchise owners and I think that the common thread that links us is that we are reaching out to our local community with a business with meaning rather than ‘chasing the money.’ I think we all believe that if you are really interested in what you are doing, and do a good job, then success will follow as a natural consequence.” - Dale and Diana Bevington

“We really feel like we are part of a network and there is always someone to call if we need advice. The franchises are split into bands depending on turnover and Sue and I meet with our peers on a monthly basis for training and to share best practice. The support we receive is second to none and although we are very much the masters of our own destiny, we never feel alone.” - Chris and Sue Broadbent

“It’s been hard work – but extremely rewarding. When I came into this business it was because I could see what a great business opportunity Home Instead offered. I have to say now though that I have been on a huge learning curve in terms of acquiring knowledge about the care sector. Home Instead is all about delivering the highest levels of care and I am absolutely passionate about this aspect of the business. I am hugely proud of the work we do.” - David Moore

“I have less stress now than in any of my previous jobs. Home Instead is already operating as a successful and proven business model so all the systems are there – it’s just down to me to get on with it. The team at head office are great and are there if I have any queries or need any additional support. What’s really unusual is that there are no targets to meet other than those I set myself. This is the first private company I’ve found that has the ethos of the voluntary sector – they really do want to make a difference. I’ve never been happier.” - Judith Herrod
