The World’s Leading Domiciliary Care Franchise Company
Home Instead Senior Care is a very successful business, but we're much more than a business. Home Instead Senior Care is the world leader in providing non-medical care for older people. We currently have more than 800 franchised offices in 15 countries.
This experience has created superb business opportunities for our franchise owners (who need no previous care experience) to own and run their own management franchise, leading a team of office staff and CAREGivers, who provide care to older people, helping them to stay in their own home for as long as possible.
In summary, Home Instead Senior Care offers selected individuals:
- The opportunity to build a large, successful, business.
- The processes and systems required to deliver world class quality services.
- The potential to play a significant role in transforming how care is provided to older people in your community.
- More support than any other care franchise in the UK.
- A proven business model that has been refined over 14 years of continuous growth.
Outstanding Quality – To our clients
The quality of the services we provide to our clients was acknowledged in April 2008 when we became the only care franchise company in the UK to have won a Dignity In Care award from the NHS.
Our processes and procedures exceed the requirements of all the Government bodies that regulate care across the UK, and the inspection reports we have received are another indication of the quality of care we provide.
Outstanding Support – To our franchise owners
The quality of the support we provide to our franchise owners is perhaps best indicated by the International Franchise Association’s (IFA) survey of franchisee satisfaction across all US based franchising companies. Home Instead Senior Care was placed second overall in 2007 and 2008 and first in the home care category in both years.
More locally in Ireland we have recently won the Best Emerging Franchise Award, whilst in the UK we have won the Best International Expansion Programme at the 2008 Franchise Marketing Awards event.
Outstanding Growth
Across the UK and Ireland we have 38 offices producing annualised revenues in excess of £18m per annum and this is growing dramatically each month. Given that three quarters of these offices have been open for less than 2 years, we believe this is a phenomenal achievement and makes us the fastest growing care franchise company in terms of our franchise owners’ revenue growth.
We are looking for people who want to run their own successful businesses, allowing us to expand in a smart, controlled manner. This will ensure we achieve our objective ‘To become the UK’s most admired care organisation by changing the way care is provided to older people.’
Please be aware that no previous care experience is necessary – indeed most of our franchise owners have not worked in the care sector before.
More support than any other care franchise in the UK
In addition to an extremely comprehensive start up package (including operational manuals, award winning training materials, DVDs, thousands of marketing brochures and a unique software system that has more functionality than any other care software system in the UK), we offer more hands on support than any other care franchise company.
This starts with a bespoke 90 day start up programme and continues with a range of ongoing support activities. These include local and national PR programmes, quarterly conferences, peer group meetings with owners at similar stages of development to yourself and unlimited telephone support. We provide a range of programmes and initiatives which will enable you to rapidly grow and manage your business.
A rapidly growing market and the need for change
The UK care market is currently worth in excess of £12 billion per annum and is forecast to at least treble over the next twenty years; the majority of this is spent on older people. The UK population is aging rapidly and there is a strong desire by the government to assist people to remain living at home for as long as possible.
However it isn’t just the rapidly growing market that is important, there is also strong recognition by the government and support organisations that the way care is currently provided needs to change. The feedback we have had is that our approach to care is exactly what is needed and we believe we are leading a revolution in care provision across the UK.

“We have met a lot of Home Instead franchise owners and I think that the common thread that links us is that we are reaching out to our local community with a business with meaning rather than ‘chasing the money.’ I think we all believe that if you are really interested in what you are doing, and do a good job, then success will follow as a natural consequence.” - Dale and Diana Bevington
“We really feel like we are part of a network and there is always someone to call if we need advice. The franchises are split into bands depending on turnover and Sue and I meet with our peers on a monthly basis for training and to share best practice. The support we receive is second to none and although we are very much the masters of our own destiny, we never feel alone.” - Chris and Sue Broadbent
“It’s been hard work – but extremely rewarding. When I came into this business it was because I could see what a great business opportunity Home Instead offered. I have to say now though that I have been on a huge learning curve in terms of acquiring knowledge about the care sector. Home Instead is all about delivering the highest levels of care and I am absolutely passionate about this aspect of the business. I am hugely proud of the work we do.” - David Moore
“I have less stress now than in any of my previous jobs. Home Instead is already operating as a successful and proven business model so all the systems are there – it’s just down to me to get on with it. The team at head office are great and are there if I have any queries or need any additional support. What’s really unusual is that there are no targets to meet other than those I set myself. This is the first private company I’ve found that has the ethos of the voluntary sector – they really do want to make a difference. I’ve never been happier.” - Judith Herrod
